Start of Repair

I'm repairing a Zenith 10S156 for a friend of a friend. Not a full restore as the cabinet looks decent for now but cabinet can always be refinished later. Someone in the past did put some finish on the cabinet a bit thick on top but might be best to leave it alone for now.

The owners a sweet couple that live in Grants Pass Oregon. They have restored a 1909 home and have several vintage cars and this radio will fit right in with their home furnishings next to their Victrola.

Lots of cleaning is in order

Needs a few knobs. Note the runs at the top. Also note that the dial sits a bit low because the tuner's rubber mounts are toast.

New power cord, new speaker leads

Hard to see but there are some runs in the finish

Finish so thick it fills the crevices

Label under the chassis shelf

Is this correct? Looks like a spacer for a smaller speaker
